On 3 April 1820, he married Ann (Nancy) Horn, daughter of William Horn
and Mary, nee Calvert, baptized 18 August 1794. Their children are:

- Ann: baptized 1 August 1824
- Dorothy: baptized 11 August 1826
- William: baptized 7 December 1828

- Alice: 1833 (could the James bapt 1833 really be Alice?)
- James: baptized 6 December 1835
- Jane: baptized 18 March 1838

This is the last time we see these Tomlins as well: William
is buried 20 April 1892 (stated as of Bradford at the time)
and Dorothy 22 November 1884.
In 1891, William is seen living with his nephew, James William
Tomlin in Ellingstring.
One of William's brothers can be seen in 1891 at Melmerby: James
Tomlin with wife Ann, and daughters Elizabeth Ann and Mary Ellen.
