| Notes for James Hammond STRINGER |
There is no direct evidence of the parentage of James. However, analysis of all Stringers from the Wensley and Redmire registers shows a resonably clean set of families. Jas. Hammond is also the only James Stringer born in YKS (according to IGI) from 1730-1770, so I think this is a better than 50% chance of being the right
one.
Jas. Stringer, tenant of the Duke of Bolton disappears from the Redmire
Land Tax returns 1794/5, but appears again in 1796-1801.
