Obituary: Mr Arthur William (Billy) Farr, of 47 Commercial street Darlington, who trained the Darlington football team which, in the 1910-11 season, reached the F.A. Cup third round (equal to the present fifth) died yesterday at the age of 80. Besides training Darlington for a number of years, Mr. Farr was a prominent local cricketer. A useful batsman and bowler, he played for several years for Darlington Cricket Club, including the 1893 season when they won the Durham County championship. He also played for them in 1904, when they headed the first division of the North Yorkshire and South Durham League. At one time he played for Redcar.
