Francis I'Anson was born 8 September 1839 at Roskwith, Thornton Watlass, son of William I'Anson and Caroline Hutchinson. Francis first married Isabella Horner Peacock 8 February 1874 in Redmire, Isabella being the child of Thomas Peacock and Isabella Horner, baptized in Redmire 1 October 1843. George Peacock is an illegitimate son of Isabella Horner Peacock. Francis and Isabella had three children:
  1. Mary Caroline: baptized 21 September 1874
  2. John Leonard: baptized 24 December 1876
  3. William Thomas: baptized 23 October 1878
Isabella Horner I'Anson was buried in Redmire, 9 November 1878.

Francis second married Mary Ann Wright, September quarter 1880 in Ripon registration district (volume 9a page 104).
