Christopher was born 11 August 1784, and baptized 26 September 1784 in Redmire, the son of Christopher Davison and Ann, nee Naylor. He married Mary Nicholson 7 April 1809. Their children baptized in Redmire, including the Ann seen on the census, are:

Mary (Nicholson) was buried in Redmire, aged 27, 9 February 1813, shortly after giving birth to their short lived twins Christopher and Mary.

Christopher remarried in Wensley 24 May 1826 to Mary Hodgson of Preston (Banns read in Redmire). They had one son, who didn't live long, another Christopher: baptized 8 June 1828, buried 23 April 1833

The young Mary seen on the census is an illegitimate daughter of Ann, baptized in Redmire 28 April 1844.

Christopher's father, the widower of Ann, is nearby with some more of Christopher Jr.'s siblings:

Name Age Occupation Birthplace
DAVISON Christopher 80 Farmer Yks

This Christopher was son of Robert Davison. He married Ann Naylor 2 March 1784 in Redmire, the daughter of William Naylor and Eleanor, nee Haw. Ann died 14 August 1817 and was buried in Redmire 19 August 1817, aged 52 according to the register and 53 on her headstone:

Also Christopher son of the above who died 16 January 1842 aged 57 years. 1851 Census

Christopher Davison Sr. died 23 February 1848 and was buried in Redmire 26 February 1848, aged 88. His son William is now head of the household:

Name Relationship Age Occupation Birthplace
DAVISON William Head, Unmarried 56 Farmer 4 Acres, Annuitant Redmire

Christopher Davison Jr. died 16 January 1842, and was buried in Redmire 19 January, leaving his daughter Ann living at North Gate Cottage:

Name Relationship Age Occupation Birthplace
DAVISON Ann Head, Unmarried 41 Annuitant Redmire
DAVISON Mary Daughter 10 Redmire

At North Gate House, another child of Christopher Sr. is living, clearly having returned from Manchester given the birthplace of his daughter:

Name Relationship Age Occupation Birthplace
DAVISON John Head, Widower 48 Proprietor of Houses and Lands Wensley Parish
DAVISON Sarah A. Daughter 14 Scholar Manchester, LAN
FAWCETT Elizabeth Servant 35 Housekeeper Wensley Parish

Elizabeth Fawcett is actually John's niece, by his sister Elizabeth.

1861 Census

Next a very mixed household of surnames, but all interrelated:

Name Relationship Age Occupation Birthplace
RAW Ellen Head, Widow 70 Redmire
CALVERT James S. Son in law, Married 27 Lead Miner Redmire
CALVERT Ann S. Daughter, Married 28 Redmire
CALVERT David R.S. Grandson 3 Redmire
DAVINSON Grace Sister, Unmarried 53 Redmire
PARKINSON Dorothy Lodger, Widow 79 Landed Proprietor Richmond

Ellen Raw is Eleanor Davison, daughter of Christopher and Ann, and the widow of David Raw. Ellen and David were Ann Stringer-Calvert's parents, and Grace Davison being Ellen's sister. Dorothy Parkinson is David Stringer-Calvert's first cousin, once removed.

At Northgate House, John and Elizabeth have clarified their birthplaces since 1851, but Elizabeth's relationship is still servant:

Name Relationship Age Occupation Birthplace
DAVINSON John Head, Widower 58 Land Proprieter, Farmer Redmire
DAVINSON Sarah Ann Daughter, Unmarried 24 Manchester, LAN
FAWCETT Elizabeth Servant, Unmarried 46 Servant Castle Bolton

1871 Census

By 1871, Elizabeth is listed as John's niece:

Name Relationship Age Occupation Birthplace
DAVISON John Head, Widower 68 Farmer Redmire
DAVISON Sarah Ann Daughter, Unmarried 30 Manchester, LAN
FAWCETT Elizabeth Niece, Unmarried 50 Housekeeper Castle Bolton

1881 Census

The last Davison's in the census are John and Sarah Ann in 1881. John is now a retired carpenter, although no mention was made of this trade on earlier census returns:

Name Relationship Age Occupation Birthplace
DAVISON John Head, Widower 78 Retired Carpenter Redmire
DAVISON Sarah Ann Daughter, Unmarried 41 Retired Carpenter's Daughter Manchester, LAN
FAWCETT Elizabeth Niece, Unmarried 66 Housekeeper Castle Bolton

John died shortly after the census on 30 December 1881, aged 79, and his daughter in 1913. Northgate house is noted as "not at home" in 1891 and empty in 1901, but given the headstone inscription, it's likely Sarah Ann continued to live there:

In loving memory of John Davison of Northgate, Redmire who died on 30 December 1881 aged 79 years and of Sarah wife of the above who died 16 March 1837 aged 26 years. Also of Sarah Ann their daughter who died at Northgate House 19 September 1913 aged 76 years.
