Mark Sherlock was born in the December quarter of 1846 (Teesdale R.D. 24 342). His mother was Elizabeth-she can be seen with Mark's siblings at Middleton-in-Teesdale in 1871. Mark is at home in Middleton in 1881.

The above Robert Hutchinson's mother was Margaret Sherlock, although exactly how they are related is uncertain.
