Elizabeth Close Harker, baptized 6 June 1869, is an illegitimate daughter of David and Elizabeth's daughter Isabella. At the Leyburn bastardy sessions of 30 July 1869, Stephen Close, a miner of Grinton, was named the father.

By 1881, David, wife Elizabeth and son David are living at 37 Queen Street in Darlington.
